Josh: Peace

During this trying time, people are doing many different things to make sense of the world around them. No matter who you are, I am sure at some point or another you have felt some level of stress. People manage stress differently, and in this list I will provide you with a few different ways you can keep a level head and feel grounded in a given situation.

  1. Find a healthy hobby

Having something which allows you take your mind off things can serve as a distraction for an unwanted circumstance you can find yourself in. For some people their hobbies include creating music, drawing pictures, or writing stories. I label these hobbies as healthy since they are all producing something original. Other hobbies such as watching TV, playing video games, or reading, are not bad things in themselves, but can lead to unhealthy behavior if you become too addicted or withdrawn from the real world.

  1. Practice meditation

This can prove difficult for people who claim to have short attention spans or don’t like being alone with their thoughts, but it can prove rewarding. High energy is actually great for meditation as it allows for one to hyperfocus their energy in one area. This can be focusing on what is troubling you, how you are feeling, or what you want your future to behold.

  1. Exercise

Although exercise can be strenuous, it is both physically and mentally rewarding. Having a healthy body and a more positive view on one’s own image could lead to a more positive outlook on the rest of their life. Exercising also releases endorphins in the brain which help you feel positive.

That is all for this post, but remember that peace is found within and it is OK to put one’s own self first.
